Root to RIDE: Baja, Mexico

Feb 9-14, 2027

Guided by Karen Jarchow, former professional cyclist, breathwork facilitator, and Transitions Intelligence (TQ) coach

Nourished by: Jenna Barnes, nomadic chef, herbalist, and functional nutrition counselor

For the athlete seeking a reset—

Not by stepping away from movement, but by stepping into a new relationship with it.

This is a space to explore what it means to be an athlete in transition—seasonally, professionally, or through the natural evolution of your life.

Held by nature and supported through movement, breath, and intentional nourishment, you’ll be invited to reconnect with yourself—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Together, we’ll ride, breathe, and receive—creating clarity and alignment in what it means to be an athlete for you, right now.

This retreat is for women and all those who identify as women.

We blend guided moments, open exploration, and space to reflect—so the experience feels both grounded and fluid.

❋ Intentional Structure

Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the group as from the content itself.

❋ Collaborative Energy

Led by experienced guides who know how to hold space, encourage participation, and keep things moving with purpose.

❋ Expert Facilitation

Root to RIDE Retreats prioritize safety, curiosity, growth from meeting ones edge—so you stretch into new possibility from a supported foundation.

❋ A Supportive Space

Meet Your GUIDES

Karen Jarchow

Karen is a retired professional endurance athlete, founder of Vail Valley RIDE, TQ coach, mentor, and breathwork facilitator who works at the intersection of performance, healing, and personal growth. Her work blends lived experience in high-level sport with Kriya, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and holistic coaching.

Root to RIDE was born from Karen’s own path of learning how to move from striving into alignment, and from proving into a more rooted way of being.

Jenna BARNES

Jenna Barnes is a nomadic chef, herbalist, and functional nutrition counselor whose lifelong relationship with food has been shaped by the elements and the cultures she’s moved through. She has worked on organic farms across continents, explored the cuisines of more than 20 countries while guiding active travel adventures with Backroads, and immersed herself in the study of herbal medicine and wildcrafting.

Jenna’s food becomes part of the journey — not just fuel, but a form of restoration. She weaves medicinal and culinary plants into every meal, drawing on the rich botanical traditions of the Mediterranean and beyond, letting the stories of traditions unfold through vibrant, intentional food.

Jenna serves medicinal meals as a ritual. Rooted in the belief that we are all expressions of nature, she brings that connection to every plate and every mug — grounded in the present moment, supporting recovery, and nourishing all systems. Her food doesn’t just feed the body: it reminds us why we’re here.

Root to RIDE

Retreat flow

  • Day flow + Energetic Themes:

    • Day 1: Arrival, Welcome Circle + Dinner + Yoga Nidra

    • Day 2: ROOT: Physical Quadrant of health focus (EARTH)

    • Day 3: SACRAL: Emotional Body of health focus (WATER)

    • Day 4: SOLAR PLEXUS: Mental Body of Health Focus (FIRE)

    • Day 5: HEART: Spiritual Body of Health Focus (AIR)

    • Day 6: Morning Practice + Closing Circle, Departure

Day 1: Arrival

Our first day to welcome, connect and arrive — leaving behind anything that doesn’t serve you for the days ahead.

Day 2: ROOT

Connecting to the Earth, we’ll move slowly and intentionally to ground ourselves into the new space, focusing on qualities of cultivating inner Trust. The RIDE experience will focus on creating safety and feeling grounded within our bodies and on our bikes.

Day 3: SACRAL

The coastline calls our name on day two, and we’ll connect with the gifts of Equanimity that this element teaches us. We’ll dive into ways that sport and movement helps us feel vs. distract.

Day 4: SOLAR PLEXUS

Fire is the element of transformation, and we’ll explore this as a pathway to empowerment, burning through any self judgements that are limiting us. Today’s RIDE will present opportunities to use our strong bodies to prove our minds wrong.

Day 5: Heart

Our final RIDE day will bring us to the heart center — the place that can hold it all, and transmute all our work into compassion.

Day 6: Departure

Our morning practice will close the container and support the integration as we pack our bags and collect our experiences to bring back home with us.
