Guided by Karen Jarchow, former professional cyclist, breathwork and sound frequency facilitator, and Transitions Intelligence (TQ) coach
Nourished by: Jenna Barnes, nomadic chef, herbalist, and functional nutrition counselor
Discover the holistic powers of your effort –
physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—and build a more transformational relationship with sport.
Together, we’ll ride, breathe, and connect, creating space for greater clarity and alignment around what it means to be an athlete in this season of your life.
This retreat is open to women and anyone who identifies as a woman.
Each day blends guided practice, desert riding, nourishing meals, group connection, and spacious time to simply be. The structure is thoughtfully designed to support both meaningful growth and genuine restoration.
❋ Intentional Rhythm
Our private, gated retreat home is located near the beach and designed for ease, comfort, and connection.
Choose from two luxury king rooms with private bathrooms and kitchens or four shared rooms with two queen beds and shared bathrooms. Between group practices and RIDE experiences, unwind by the pool, retreat to your room, or enjoy the peaceful Baja soundscapes.
❋ Restorative Accommodations
Led by experienced facilitators and ride leaders, each part of the retreat is held with purpose, care, and awareness. You’ll be supported in safely exploring both the desert terrain and your inner landscape—at a pace that honors where you are.
❋ Expert Facilitation
Connection is at the heart of Root to RIDE. Within a small, intentionally gathered group, you’ll have space to meet your edges, try something new, and be fully yourself—supported by a community moving through the experience alongside you.
❋ Supportive Community

Jenna BARNES
Jenna Barnes is a nomadic chef, herbalist, and functional nutrition counselor whose lifelong relationship with food has been shaped by the elements and the cultures she’s moved through. She has worked on organic farms across continents, explored the cuisines of more than 20 countries while guiding active travel adventures with Backroads, and immersed herself in the study of herbal medicine and wildcrafting.
Jenna’s food becomes part of the journey — not just fuel, but a form of restoration. She weaves medicinal and culinary plants into every meal, drawing on the rich botanical traditions of the Mediterranean and beyond, letting the stories of traditions unfold through vibrant, intentional food.
Jenna serves medicinal meals as a ritual. Rooted in the belief that we are all expressions of nature, she brings that connection to every plate and every mug — grounded in the present moment, supporting recovery, and nourishing all systems. Her food doesn’t just feed the body: it reminds us why we’re here.

Day 6: DepartureWho is this for?
Root to RIDE Retreats are for women ready to experience mountain biking as more than performance or exercise—but as a powerful tool for holistic health.
This retreat is for you if you are craving:
more confidence and empowerment
a deeper connection to your body + mind + spirit
space to slow down and reset your nervous system
supportive community with other women
a meaningful experience that blends movement, connection, and inner-knowing
a new way of relating to effort
You do not need to arrive as your most fit, most polished, or most “together” self.
You simply need to come as you are.
-
Plant the seed for this experience by securing your spot with a deposit today.
-
Book with a friend, and you’ll each receive 10% off your individual retreat investment.
-
Now that you’ve committed to this experience, spend some time leaning into WHAT you want out of this experience and WHY do you want it?
Let your intention become the guide for how you show up, both on and off the bike.
-
We recommend booking your flight into Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) as soon as possible to secure the best options and allow for a smooth arrival.
Airport transportation is not included in the retreat price, but we’ll connect you with a trusted local driver and create a WhatsApp group so participants can coordinate shared shuttles from the airport. It’s also a great way to begin connecting with the group before you arrive.
-
Decide whether you’ll travel with your own bike or rent one locally for the retreat. We’re partnering with Over the Edge Sports to provide trusted rental options and help make the process as seamless as possible.
A female bike mechanic and desert sprit animal will also be part of the experience throughout the week, offering added support and peace of mind both on and off the trail.
-
We recommend arriving prepared to ride 2–4 hours a day on desert terrain during our three main riding days. With two RIDE support leaders, we can accommodate a range of paces and abilities.
This retreat invites you to explore a new relationship with effort—whether that means slowing down, connecting with your breath, building confidence, or gently moving beyond your comfort zone. This isn’t about mileage or metrics. It’s about connecting with sport in a new way.
-
Nestled just north of Todos Santos, our spacious retreat home is designed for rest, connection, and ease. Choose from shared rooms with queen-sized beds or one of two luxury private rooms with king-sized beds. Between practices and rides, relax by the pool, recharge in your room, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
